How in parish ministry can one keep reading a good range of books, which aren't directly related to sermon study?
One way might be to set myself a ridiculously ambitious target. So here's a list of books I'm aiming to read/re-read in the next, what shall we say, two years (grouped for convenience):

27 books! That's a lot of books Neil...
Well I wouldn't bother with the Richard Bewes book, for a start. And only one biblical studies book? Neil, surely you know better than that!
Dawn, better to aim at 27 and read 10, than aim at 5 and not read any, which is my usual pattern.
Ros, I figure that I'm reading a lot more biblical studies during sermon prep anyway.
So perhaps you should aim for 50 and then read 27!
